The Kempe Foundation,[1] an independent 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1976 to raise the needed funds and awareness, and engage in advocacy to create sustainable support for the work of The Kempe Center.

The Kempe Foundation’s mission is to increase awareness, engage in advocacy and secure and provide resources for The Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect. Directed by some of the nation’s leading experts, The Kempe Center hosts programs that treat abused and neglected children, trains future professionals, and researches new methods to help and heal these innocent victims. These programs are making the future brighter for abused and neglected children.
