Various famous people have helped pass stronger laws, aided with charities dealing with rape, and helped raise awareness.

On September 21, 2007, musician Taylor Swift helped launch a campaign to protect children from online predators.[1] She has teamed up with Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen to combat internet sex crimes.[1] The year-long campaign, in partnership with the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police, will distribute Internet safety information and materials to parents and students across the state.[1]

Actress Christina Ricci is the spokesperson for the RAINN, and has met with members of congress to try to convince them to pass stronger rape laws to protect women on cruise ships.
